ANDERSEN LIBRARY BLOG
For three years out of my college career, I worked for The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Andersen Library. After serving as a Circulation Desk Attendant from 2017-2019, the Andersen staff learned of my passion for writing and offered me a position as a Public Relations Creative Writer. I was tasked with enthusiastically serving as the face of the library and creating quality content for the Andersen Library blog on a weekly basis.
As Andersen Library's PR Creative Writer, I produced a variety of engaging and relevant blog posts that covered many events, initiatives, and programs offered in the library such as Pet Therapy, Study N’ Style, and Resume Doctor. On many occasions, I coordinated with both internal and external contacts to ensure that the information I was providing to the The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus was both accurate and reliable. This remote position required good organizational and problem-solving skills, since I produced most of my work outside of the library. I became proficient in creating content that was acceptable according to Andersen Library’s editorial guideline.
Working on the Public Relations team at Andersen Library allowed me to creatively speak to the UW-Whitewater campus community in a way that was both structured and dynamic.
